A bit about me.
I am an experienced guitar technician based in Northampton. I am married with two teenage children. I have been playing bass
and guitar since I was at school, and still play most saturday nights in my covers band, Bad Breed.
I have almost thirty years experience as a toolmaker, and I am proud to say that many of the components that I have made,
have been used in Formula One racing engines, commercial airliners and jet fighters.
It was this engineering background that led me to start maintaining my own guitars, and then starting to work on friends
instruments. Compared to some of the intricate machining tolerances I am used to working to, on components worth thousands
of pounds, many guitar jobs are relatively straightforward.
Over the years I have bought more tooling and improved my skills and experience. When I was made redundant at the beginning
of 2005, I decided it was time to do what I enjoyed the most, and set myself up in (near) full time business as a guitar technician
and repairman.
